RDP Bandwidth Fix

Sudhir had trouble connecting to the Camile PC with RDP and our best guess was due to bandwidth issues. Namely, his distance from the network was the most likely reason, since his speeds were otherwise good.

To resolve this issue, we made the following "Local Policy" changes on the Camile PC:

  • Go to local computer policy > computer configuration > administrator templates > Windows components > remote desktop services > remote desktop session host > connections
  • select network detection on the server, set it to enabled and set the drop down to turn off connect time detect and continuous network detect
  • Then, also in local computer policy, go to remote desktop session host > remote session environment
  • select enforce removal of remote desktop wallpaper and set it to enabled
