ORSANCO DB Project

Overview & Goals

The goal of this project is to design, create, implement, and populate a database infrastructure to meet ORSANCO’s variety of requirements. The new database infrastructure should be capable of absorbing the data from existing ORSANCO priority databases and it should permit efficient entry of new data. In addition, the new architecture should include robust database servers that support the user queries and report generation in a responsive interface.

The system needs to provide the following:

• Efficient migration of existing data while avoiding the duplication of data,
• Easy-to-use User Interfaces
  • Responsive internal user interfaces to support the Create, Read, Update and Delete (CRUD) operations with multiple levels of authorization,
  • Provide robust mechanisms to generate the pre-defined internal and external reports,
  • Provide an appropriate interface for external users,
  • Create a seamless user experience and user interface, and
  • Create easy-to-use mechanisms for uploading new data.
• Efficient scalable time-series data storage.
• Automated extract, transform and load (ETL) and export functionalities.
• Advanced visualization and analytics.
• Extensibility beyond the initial set of data and datatypes.
