SWMOPT Meeting Notes 5/12/2023

  • No new work has been done. Kind of waiting for either feedback or new Task Order on (June or July??) 1st, 2023.
  • Multiple scenarios, easier way to configure them?
  • He was actually asking about different rainfall files?
  • Does pyswmm have an api for changing rainfall?
  • This summer, Lifeng will be starting on Chama runs, doing some ensemble runs:
    • Change rainfall for hundreds of different rainfalls
    • Or change plumes for hundreds of different plumes
  • We could do it similar to SWC where rainfall.dat file is just replaced on the fly, instead of changing the rainfall file name in the input file.
  • DYNSYSTEM NetSTORM can be used to create input files with variances.
  • Census track data like population for coverage formulation.
  • Versions: Which SWMM and which PySWMM?
  • New EPA employees onboarding that will be upkeeping some software (EPANET). SWMM is probably behind EPANET team.
  • New SWMM stuff will be out of Reegan’s (sp?) division, unknown what branch.
  • They will start inviting Caleb to the calls (he’s the one who is starting to work on SWMM).
  • Next steps:
    • Pause bc out of money.
    • Ask how to get HPC access, GQC access through Jake since he has credentials
  • WNTR is still in development. Just released 1.0 in March. Kate will talk @ EWRI about it on Monday. Trying to get money to expand it to SWMM, beyond just drinking water.
  • They’re also trying to expand with climate projections, DoD support, … Noah and Mike something...
