Meaning of group_1 and group_2 codes:
Vannary: PACP codes usually consist of two or three letters. The first letter describes the defect types (crack (C) or root (R)), the second letter describes the distress level of the defect (such as CL for longitudinal Crack and RF for find roots), and the third letter describes the location or other additional description of the defect (RFJ for fine root at joint). Group 1 is the group of codes that have similar code when you are reducing the code by one letter and group 2 is the group of codes that have similar code when you are reducing the code by two letters. If the original code has two letters, its groups 1 and 2 will be the same. For the WRc codes, I only match the code to group 2 of the PACP code.

Data Flow for DNV GIS:

Difference between _code_points.shp and _defect_points.shp files:

The defect_points.shp files contain the points present in the code_points.shp file except those who have their group_2 code as one the following: V (Vermin), ZZZ (others), G (Grout), ND (Non-defective), A (Access Point), T (Tap), L (Line), MMC (Miscellaneous Material Change), MLC (Miscellaneous Lining Change), and MSC (Miscellaneous Shape Change).

Explanation of the different shape files:

  • DNV_81_pacp_code_points.shp: This shape file corresponds to the points in the DNV_A dataset which contains 81 videos with PACP as the inspection standard.

  • DNV_81_pacp_defect_points.shp: refer to difference between _code_points.shp and _defect_points.shp.

  • DNV_81_pacp_code_points_material_edit.shp: This shape file is the same as the corresponding _code_points.shp file but the pipe segment material (pipe_seg_m) column has been changed to the standard name.

  • DNV_81_pacp_defect_points_material_edit.shp: This shape file is the same as the corresponding _defect_points.shp file but the pipe segment material (pipe_seg_m) column has been changed to the standard name.

  • DNV_B_C_pacp_wrc_code_points.shp: This shape file corresponds to the points in the DNV_B (406 PACP videos + 1650 WRc videos) and the DNV_C (1066 WRc videos) datasets.

  • DNV_B_C_pacp_wrc_defect_points.shp: refer to difference between _code_points.shp and _defect_points.shp.

  • DNV_B_C_pacp_wrc_code_points_material_edit.shp: This shape file is the same as the corresponding _code_points.shp file but the pipe segment material (pipe_seg_m) column has been changed to the standard name.

  • DNV_B_C_pacp_wrc_defect_points_material_edit.shp: This shape file is the same as the corresponding _defect_points.shp file but the pipe segment material (pipe_seg_m) column has been changed to the standard name.

  • DNV_wrc_1066_code_points.shp: This shape file corresponds to the points in the DNV_C (1066 WRc videos) dataset. These points are a included in the DNV_B_C_pacp_wrc_code_points.shp file.
